Zanima me kako biste rečenicu "She was gained a scholarship owing to her mentor's help." preformulisali, tako da značenje ostane isto a rečenicu počnete sa had ... ?

Ne razmišljam glasno.
Odličan članak Phil, međutim mene ovo i dalje buni. Uopšte ne vidim vezu između "had" i bilo kojeg dela u rečenici na koji bi se moglo nadovezati. Da je makar 'had gained" ili nešto slično ...
Ne znam, tupava sam ...

I think this could be the right answer, although it would be good to see the question in it's original form:
"Had it not been for the help of her mentor, she wouldn't have gained the scholarship."

"Had it not been with her mentors help, she wouldn't have gained the scholarship."
"Had it not been with the help by her mentor, she wouldn't have gained the scholarship."
No more ideas here.
