Grabbing the Screen
There are several ways to make screen grabs with ClipMate:
- Capturing the Desktop - Just press the PrintScreen (Prt Scr) key (a button on your keyboard, often next to the F12 key). This makes a Bitmap image of the whole desktop, and sends it to ClipMate.
- Capturing a Window - Press Alt+PrintScr (at the same time), and the current window will be sent to ClipMate as a bitmap.
- Capturing an Area- This gives you a "rubberband" mouse selection, so you can specify an area of the screen to grab. From ClipMate's main menu, select Edit | "Screen Capture - Area" (or use Ctrl+Alt+F12), and your mouse pointer will turn into a crosshair. Click 'n' drag (left button) to mark your selection. Release the mouse button, and a bitmap is captured by ClipMate.
- Capturing an "object" - Similar to the rectangular selection, use Edit | "Screen Capture - Object". This is useful for capturing certain objects, such as the contents of the browser window without the surrounding frame, toolbar, etc..
