Britanska kraljevska porodica poseduje veoma značajnu kolekciju njegovih dela.

Piter Brojgel Stariji, "Zimski pejzaž sa klizačima i klopkom za ptice" (Winter Landscape with Skaters and a Bird Trap, Winterlandschaft mit Eisläufern und Vogelfalle).
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pieter_Bruegel_d._%C3%84._093.jpg
Citat:The landscape is painted with great freedom: playing with the combined effects of tiny impasti and translucent glazes, the painter has created a dialogue between the opaqueness of the snow and the reflections of the frost, the cold tones of the ice and the dark colours of carefully positioned trees and vegetation. Specialists remain, however, divided on this masterpiece: some believe that Bruegel painted it on his own, others with the help of his workshop. Several versions and numerous copies of this composition exist, some of them as late as the 18th century.

Citat:He was accepted into the studio of Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres in 1830, at the age of eleven, becoming the favorite pupil of the great classicist, who came to regard him as his truest disciple. (An account that may be apocryphal has Ingres declaring "Come, gentlemen, come see, this child will be the Napoleon of painting.")
After Ingres left Paris in 1834 to become director of the French Academy in Rome, Chassériau fell under the influence of Eugène Delacroix, whose brand of painterly colorism was anathema to Ingres. Chassériau's art has often been characterized as an attempt to reconcile the classicism of Ingres with the romanticism of Delacroix.
