Evo ovako:
German Electronics firm Cherry is partnering with SuSE Linux on a "Linux compatible" keyboard. The company is customizing a keyboard from its CyMotion line that will feature hot keys and other advanced technologies.
Adorned with a Tux logo, the Linux keyboard will reportedly be priced at US $50 (about 39 Euros), and will target business users in Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK. It will also come with a copy of Novell's SuSE 9.1 Linux distribution.
Companion software from Cherry that allows users to assign functions to specific keys will be available for Linux users when the product ships in late September, according to a spokesperson at Cherry's Waukegan, IL division.
In June, Cherry's German parent company released the CyMotion Master Solar Wireless keyboard which charges the companion wireless mouse during use. An integrated solar panel generates sufficient power to run the wireless keyboard and mouse, according to the company. Cherry's solar-powered keyboard currently retails for about US $90. No word yet on Linux support for this model.
