Imagine an object no bigger than an average coffee table and a chunk of cosmic rock and ice twice the size of Table Mountain. When the two collide on July 4 this year it will cause not only a massive man-made fireworks display but will hopefully reveal the secret building blocks of our existence.
The impact, which will be watched by scientists and amateur astronomers around the world, is expected to eject huge amounts of ice and dust from the surface of the crater to reveal untouched, primordial material beneath.
