Srecom nema opasnosti po cunami iako je bio jacino od 6.2 rihtera
A strong earthquake shook northern Japan early on Saturday, injuring at least two people, but there was no danger of a tsunami, officials said.
The magnitude-6.2 quake occurred at 3.32 am and was centred about 50 kilometres below the seabed, off the coast of Miyagi prefecture (state), about 300 kilometres northeast of Tokyo, the Meteorological Agency said.
It was felt most strongly in the city of Ishinomaki in Miyagi but was also felt in dozens of towns in nearby prefectures including Aomori, Iwate and Tochigi, the agency said.
At least two people were injured, officials said. A 74-year-old woman was taken to a hospital after she fell and hit the back of her head, but her injury was believed to be minor, according to Kyoichi Magome, a fire department official in Miyagi.
Another woman in Iwate prefecture fell from a bed and bruised her shoulder, and was treated at a hospital, said Kazumi Onodera, a fire official in Iwate.
Japan is one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries because it sits atop four tectonic plates.
A 7.2-magnitude earthquake shook northeastern Japan in August, injuring at least 59 people, triggering landslides, damaging buildings and causing widespread power outages.
