GIMP 2.7.1

Vidim da nemamo temu za GIMP pa rekoh da to ispravimo. GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) je najpoznatiji editor bitmapirane grafike (fotografija i slika) otvorenog koda. GIMP je vrlo moćan. Možda ne koliko i Photoshop, ali svakako poseduje gomilu opcija koje mogu da pariraju većem delu njegovih mogućnosti. S druge strane GIMP prati malo drugačiju filozofiju i da bi ste efektivno koristili potreban je određeni period navikavanja. Srećom, na internetu postoji veliki broj tutorijala i sajtova posvećenih ovom programu.

In their own words, "GIMP is our answer to the current lack of free (or at least reasonably priced) image manipulation software for GNU/Linux and UNIX in general."

It is a raster editor, which means that it performs operations directly on the pixels that make up the image, and not a vector editor. Other (proprietary) raster editors include Adobe Photoshop, Jasc Paintshop Pro and the humble Microsoft Paint. An alternative free editor is the KOffice project, Krita. Users wanting to edit photographs will certainly want a raster editor like GIMP. Graphic designers and illustrators may prefer a vector editor depending on their tastes.

Verzija 2.6.6 je vec ukljucena u default instalaciju Ubuntua 9.04, tako da Ubuntu korisnici ne moraju nista da diraju

hteo bih da pitam koliko je vama bilo potrebno vremena da se naviknete tj . naucite da koristite gimp.
pitam zbog sebe. evo-imam neke stare fotografije koje bih trebao da obradim. posto imam skener tj. all-in-one planiram da ih obradim i odstampam. da li ce to biti problem (posto se ne bavim obradom fotograafija) ili da se ne cimam i da ih odnesem u neko foto radnju. napominjem da sam vec odneo u jednu foto radnju i devojka je to kao obradila ali nije to to, tj. nije ono sto sam ja zeleo. i recite mi samo posto koristim i windows pored minta, da li da skidam adobeov photoshop ili da ipak pokusam u gimpu?

Ako znas u photoshopu to da odradis,znaces i u gimpu,pogledaj tutorijale na tu temu,stvarno ih ima gomila.

Ja cak mislim da se GIMP i photoshop ne razlikuju tako mnogo,jedino je interfejs drugaciji ali za dan-dva aktivnog rada se naviknes skroz na njega. Napominjem da ja nisam nista ozbiljno u njemu radio vec one,standardne stvari.

A sto se tice toga da li sam to da radis, ja mislim da treba. Nikad ne mozes da budes siguran da ce ti oni uraditi bas ono sto zelis.

GIMP 2.8 (Stable)

Single Window Mode: you can finally use a single main window instead of overlapping floating windows. This is optional and can be turned on from the Windows menu.
On-canvas text editing: editing text is not performed in a separate window anymore.
Multi-column dock windows which makes the GIMP UI a lot more customizable
Improved screen real estate for dockable dialogs
Using "Save" now saves the file in the GIMP XCF format and it can't be used for saving PNG and other files. For non-XCF file types, you now have to use the "Export" menu entry.
You can now create layer groups which can be organized in tree-like structures

Download and how to install to Ubuntu 11.10 and 12.04:
Važno. PPA za Ubuntu nije za finalnu verziju već za GIMP 2.8 RC1, pa instalirate na svoju odgovornost. Najviše grešaka je prijavljeno na 11.10
Kaže se da bi uskoro trebao da se pojavi PPA i za GIMP 2.8 Stable.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gimp
Ukoliko vršite ažuriranje GIMP-a straije verzije neophodna je i komanda
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Ako ne želite da koristite GIMP zbog navedenih razloga a ipak ste ga instalirali, možete ga lako deinstalirati

Nisam ga probao ali kazu da radi bez problema.

ради без проблема, пробао исти дан кад је објављена стабилна верзија ( већ сам био почео да шизим што никако нисам могао да нађем верзију 2.7.5) ...
