BARRY WHITE, FOREVER THE MAESTRO
12 SEPTEMBER 1944 - 4 JULY 2003
We are very saddened to learn of the death of the Maestro Barry White. Barry died on Friday 4 July 2003 at around 0930 PST at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, his manager Ned Shankman said. Sadly, Barry who had suffered a stroke on 1 May this year was not able to pull through his illness. The cause of death was kidney failure, brought on from years of high blood pressure.
Right now it is far too soon to take on board the awesome loss that The Man's passing will bring. We hope that time will offer comfort to his family, friends and millions of fans throughout the world and we will gain strength through our thoughts and peaceful remembrance of a true Giant of music.
We will continue to share a little love in our hearts for The Icon of Love, Barry White: writer, arranger, producer and super smooth smooth vocalist. His influence on music has been awesome, and will continue to be so.
