I thought i'd put a beginners book in here to making a succesfull website. I love seeing new sites out on the net EXCEPT when they are just like the rest of the websites i've seen.

Few things to take into consideration
Right, So you've decided you want to make a website. The things you have to consider are:
Hosting
Determination (most important)
Content
Design (not the most important but its nice to woo people into your site.)

Ok, So we'll go along the lines of hosting first...
If you have any money in your bank and are REALLY determined on making your site, then buy hosting. With proper hosting its easy to use, no adverts and a lot of extra features.

Ok, so you cant pay for numerous reasons, you dont have a card or anything.

Things to take in mind when looking for a host..
Space - I reccomend 200mb or above ATLEAST
Bandwith transfer - Bandwith tranfer is how much is viewed/uploaded/downloaded. So if you view a 12k webpage, then thats 12k used. And if you think how many users you have. This is why cache-ing is used.
PHP - Not mandatory but its reccomended.
MYSQL - If you are using PHP then its reccomended, Although you can use other database types.
FTP Access - In my opinion this is compulsory, although there are browsers implemented upload files, if you provide some kind of download then you cant resume browser wise, etc.

Content is very important,
What makes your site different from another one following the same theme?
Any extra features? Etc.
You cant just come out with a site just like any other site. When you do that, the previous site already has a reputation so it just burdens you even more.

Design....
Ok, So most people do a simple design, a banner at the top, buttons underneath and content underneath. Usually a gradient of sorts as a header to the content.
