VLC Media Player izlazi na kraj sa velikim brojem multimedijalnih formata. Podrzava MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, MP3, OGG, DVD, VCD i veliki broj drugih,manje poznatih formata. Zasnovan je na arhitekturi otvorenog koda, pa se veoma često azurira. Korisnički Interfej je jednostavan za upotrebu, ali veoma skroman. Izgled programa se moze mijenjati pomoću skinova. Program takođe moze posluziti kao server za audio i video fajlove na mrezama visoke propusne moći. VLC Media Player je besplatan i predstavlja odličan izbor za reprodukovanje multimedijalnih sadrzaja.

VLC (initially VideoLAN Client) is a highly portable multi-platform multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, Ogg, OGM, MOV, wma, wmv...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. The VideoLAN project targets multimedia streaming of MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and DivX files, DVDs, digital satellite channels, digital terrestial television channels and live videos on a high-bandwidth IPv4 or IPv6 network in unicast or multicast under many OSes. jedino sto me izludjuje kod vlc-a (inace je odlican) je to sto u full screenu nema interfejs, pa kad hoces bilo sta slozenije da uradis, moras ili da se drndas sa menijima, ili da izadjes iz fullscreena...

Mnogo korisno za emule kada stavite sa ovim programom da radi preview, iskljuci se opcija Create backup to preview i on strimuje fajl vec sa 5% skinutog, iz temp foldera, naravno samo deo fajla koji je skinuo...
