Citat:Hee hee hee! It's funny when people think that old news is new news! Take this story by the BBC dated Feb 2001 which reports that Microsoft might charge Hotmail users a fee. The story was real at the time (it was after the Dot Com crash and everyone was wondering how to monetize the Internet) but it is now only on the site for historical reasons.
So why is an old story new news? Because it has become the subject of a chain letter email. Yes, the story is clearly marked as being from 2001. Yes, the BBC News website looks totally different now and yes, Hotmail looks completely different now as well. However, this hasn't prevented thousands from being suckered by this story.
Here's an article by the BBC on the chain letter .
