don't judge anything (nor anyone), don't mark a situation positive or negative, just live/deal with it the best way you can...
u step... then u step again... then comes another step... then u would have made the next good step as well if someone/-thing hadn't stopped u... which might be just great, cuz that way u didn't got hit by a truck, 4 e.g. (although u have some mud on your shoes now.)
