Making a bee line.

Porijeklo;
Citat:The phrase derives from the behaviour of bees. When a forager bee finds a source of nectar it returns to the hive and communicates its location to the other bees, using a display called the waggle dance. The other bees are then able to fly directly to the source of the nectar, i.e. 'make a beeline' for it.
The phrase is American and all the early citations of it come from the USA. The earliest that I can find is from The Davenport Daily Leader, January 1808:
"Gustav Stengel Sr., of Rock Island, was thrown from his sleigh on Third avenue in that city yesterday afternoon, the horse becoming frightened and turning abruptly, ripping the cutter. The horse made a bee line for home."

Upotrijebiti jedan od izraza znaci pokusati docarati nekome neciju "inteligenciju". Izgleda da su ljudi jako velikodusni i kreativni kada se treba nekome narugati ili nekoga povrijediti.

moja prva asocijacija je bila na nasu narodnu: dok kucka ne mrdne repom...
pogledala sam u recnicima na netu i nisam nasla. kako sam gotovo sigurna da pitas zbog pesme genesis-a, evo o cemu je pesma po vikipediji.
"Like much of the A Trick of the Tail album the songs lyrics focus on a specific character; the "Beast" who leaves his own kingdom and enters the world of humans. He is captured and put on display in a freak show after his captors refuse to believe in his kingdom. The Beast laments his decision to leave his home, describing it as a paradise covered in gold. His captors then release him in exchange for leading them to his world. However, just as they see what appears to be a "golden spire", the Beast has vanished, leaving only his voice (singing the refrain of the song). The title of the song likely refers to the appearance of the beast who is depicted as a Devil-like character with the hoofs and tail of a horse, a humanoid upper-body and goats horns."
u samoj pesmi se ne pominje taj izraz, ali se pominje a trick of the eye (opticka varka), tako da je ovo mozda aluzija na taj izraz. ako zver kaze: oni nemaju ni rogove ni rep, aluzija je, verovatno, na to da se ljudima rep ne vidi, odnosno da nisu uvek ljudi nego su zveri. ovo nije klasican idiom, ovo je izraz nastao iz potrebe za idiomom. da bi se nasao adekvatan izraz u nasem jeziku, verovatno treba preslusati ceo album.

Tragajući internetom i razgovarajući sa jednim prijateljem došao sam do rešenja koje bi moglo da glasi: "a trick of the tail" = "umiljatošću do prijatelja", odnosno, "veština sticanja prijatelja".
The reason a dog has so many friends
is because he wags his tail
instead of his tongue.
'A trick of the tail' means' skill of having many friends.
Objašnjenje je da kad pas hoće da stekne prijatelja on maše repom i umiljava se ( i naravno ne pokazuje zube).
Meni ovo deluje prihvatljivo.

U bukvalnom pevodu glavi - uzvući utikač (iz struje) 
Ali mi je neko rekao (ili sam negde pročitala, ne znam sad) da je to zapravo fraza koja označava nagli prekid neke radnje, kada nešto namerno zaustavljamo...
Da li je to istina ili ima neko drugo značenje?
