DOCTORS BEAT SARS VIRUS

Doctors believe they have finally defeated SARS, the deadly lung disease which killed nearly 800 people in two dozen countries two years ago.

Experts do not think it will return to infect humans unless it escapes from a laboratory or the virus mutates into an entirely new form.

Although the coronavirus that causes Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome still exists in animals it no longer possesses the ability to cause an epidemic in humans.
