‘Image Matters’ - marketing and advertising company - is looking for a freelance web developer for a position on a part-time basis.
The ideal candidate will:
•Have an expert understanding and ability to hand-code websites using expert technical skills in HTML, CSS, PHP, Flash, etc.
•Be a motivated self-starter able to manage their time when working under pressure to meet deadlines
•Demonstrate competency in building scalable websites using the latest web development skill sets
•Ask questions to team members and product owners to ensure understanding of the requirements
•Design and code technical solutions as identified by supervisor and management
•Have an understanding of the issues regarding web accessibility and web usability
•Develop and implement complex internet applications on one or more platforms
•Perform web-enabled database development and module design.
•Use programming tools to write scripts.
•Have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
•Display strong attention to detail
•Be self motivated, detail-oriented and organized
The requirements for the position include:
•Experience with any of the popular PHP frameworks
•Experience writing scalable queries over a large dataset in a high- availability environment
•Experience writing valid XHTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery)
•Understanding of the W3C standards
•HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, ASP, ASP.NET, Visual Basic, Java, C++, and SQL;
•Web development skills using LAMP: Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP
•Development on open source platforms
Experience with any of the following is preferred:
•Clickability or other open source CMS
•Information architecture
•Web usability and accessibility
•Wireframes
•Server-side frameworks
•Databases / SQL
•SEO
