Posao snimanja cd/dvd medija najčešće obavlja planetarno popularni NERO. No nakon ovog članka to više ne bi trebalo biti tako. CDBurnerXP je pa moglo bi se slobodno reč „plagijat“ popularnog NERA, no to mu ne možemo zamjeriti budući da je u potpunosti besplatan, a i uspješno obavlja posao snimanja CD-R/CD-RW/DVD+R/DVD-R/DVD+RW/DVD-RW medija. Sučelje programa je ugodno dizajnirano i vidi se da je za tu inspiraciju poslužio NERO. No to nije neka mana, pa će za privikavanje na njegovo sučelje biti dovoljno svega par minuta.
Program obiluje mogućnostima pa eto da izdvojimo one najvažnije. Moguće je kreirati audio cd-ove iz mp3, wav, ogg i wma datoteka, također je moguća izrada bootabilnih cd/dvd medija, na vrlo jednostavan način moguća je izrada i snimanje ISO datoteka, program omogućava konverziju bin- i nrg- datoteka direktno u ISO format, moguća je reprodukcija mp3 zapisa direktno iz programa.

CDBurnerXP is an easy to use and free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. It also includes the feature to burn and create ISOs, as well as a multilanguage interface. You can create data and audio CDs with or without gaps between tracks, burn and create ISO files, create bootable discs. It does however support Burn-Proof technology, multi-session disks, import of ISO images has bin/nrg - ISO converter, simple cover printing and much more. In addition to CD/DVD burning, you can also rip audio CDs, normalize WAV files, encode MP3 files, erase disks. Compatible with Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista operating systems. Everyone, even companies, can use it for free. It does not include adware or similar malicious components.
Create Data-CDs/DVDs:
• burn any Data on CD-R/CD-RW/DVD+R/DVD-R/DVD+RW/DVD-RW, including double layer mediums
• burn mp3-CDs to store many audio files on one single disc

Since CDBurnerXP 4, we use the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (or any higher version) as basis for our application. If you are running Windows Vista, you already have .NET 3.0 preinstalled so there is nothing to care about. Any earlier operating system, however, requires that you install it manually.
