Picasa je softver koji Vam pomaže da brzo pronađete, uredite i razmenite sa drugima svaku sliku na Vašem ličnom računaru. Za početak možete koristiti Picasa-u za jednostavno preuzimanje fotografija sa Vašeg foto-aparata. Nakon toga, svaki put kada pokrenete program, on će automatski pronaći sve Vaše slike (čak i one koje ste zaboravili da imate) i poređati ih u albume po datumima i sa imenima fascikli koje ćete moći da prepoznate. Funkcija «prevuci-i otpusti» omogućava Vam da uredite albume i napravite natpise za slike da biste formirali nove grupe.

Picasa takođe olakšava obradu fotografija alatkama koje se pokreću samo jednim klikom i moćnim efektima, a olakšava i razmenu Vaših fotografija; možete ih poslati elektronskom poštom, odštampati kod kuće, napraviti poklon diskove, čak ih i objaviti u sopstvenom blogu*.

Evo par mojih utisaka:
- program vizuelno dobro izgleda,
- lepo osmisljen screensaver,
- nedostatak fullscreena iz explorera ili commandera (da bih slike gledao u fullscreenu moram da pokrenem Picasu, pa da iz nje pokrecem fullcreen; to ustvari i nije fullscreen, nego slideshow), tako da se po pitanju picture viewinga vracam ACDSeeju,
- opcija za uklanjanje red-eye efakta je jako pametna tj. dobra,
- jednostavna organizacija foldera sa slikama,
- ne postoji opcija za stopiranje/pauziranje skeniranja harda za slikama,
- (deluje mi da je) prilicno brz program.

Kakav nedostatak fullscreena - picasa je organizer, a ne viewer, to su dve razlicite stvari. Zato su i dodali onaj picasa photo viewer, ali ga izgleda nisi postavio pri instalaciji. idi na tools/configure hoto viewer, pa vidi kako izgleda njihova ideja.
